The Evolution of Slaughter FX
Who remember’s “Aussie Gore”? we commanded a large chunk of Mooloolaba Brisbane Road and scared the shit out of pedestrians with our life size zombies, horror and special FX creatures spilling out onto the sidewalk, our horror maze in Maroochydore, was so terrifying that many grown men cried and hit the panic button ready for rescue! We began with a BANG! and have not slowed down ever since.
Aussie Gore soon morphed into one of Australia’s most successful horror movie production companies that we all know and love today! Slaughter FX.
The climb to the Aussie Horror elite has been an interesting one, with many memorable moments along the way.
Chris designed and built a table that he thought was pretty cool, he had no idea that table would soon go viral, and when we mean viral, we are talking most horror platform known to man with over 50 million views globally and an average of 1 to 2 emails per day for the past 10 years enquiring on a purchase. It’s the most viewed horror furniture item in the world. What are we talking about? “The Friday the 13th Coffee Table” (of course).
Our favourite part was when Chris turned his focus to film making.
Daddy’s little Girl sent shockwaves through the industry and earned itself a myriad of awards from all over the world, with a gripping script, lifelike special effects and an ending that leaves no eyes dry, Chris firmly cemented himself as a player that is here to “slay”.
CHARLIES FARM, shook the world with the infamous donkey dick chop! If you haven’t seen Charlies Farm, you haven’t lived! Get on it and get on it now!
BOAR, took over Manhattan (New York). This little horror film shot on The Sunny Coast was displayed proudly on top of the famous yellow cabs in Time Square, the back of metro buses too, we were flooded with pictures from happy fans posing In front of taxis with BOAR on the top terrifying people. BOAR was the 5th highest selling horror movie to be released in Australia in 2018 (thank you Universal Pictures).
A personal favourite is the ozploitation film that is Come and Get me, its wild, its rough, it’s fun and we guarantee Chris had a BALL killing people in this film, that’s what Chris loves best! Killing people in a Chris Sun Film. Which brings us to the here and now, it is time this website gets the much-needed TLC it deserves, it needs to match the achievements of this legendary director, it needs to look fucking incredible.
